Tarte Elysée – Part 1

Tarte Elysée is a local store which sells french tarts. I’m unsure if they make them there or if they’re made by other companies.. I’m still yet to find out. I’ve walked past this joint a billion times and never have thought to try it.. I’ve noticed the tarts and fruit flans seem to keep selling and there were none left by the time I got there.. so I thought why not try some chocolate tarts as chocolate always seems to win my heart. Unfortunately I didn’t take the names of the tarts as it was in cryptic french LOL

I didn’t expect it to be anywhere as outstanding as La Renaissance @ The Rocks (read review) so I knew what I was in for. Surprisingly these tarts were delicious it sent me moaning like a cow who’s chowed-down on a stack of grass haha

From what I remember this tart was a dark chocolate ganache with custard filled profiteroles! The base was delicious although it took a stab to get through to it.. I enjoyed it as I am a base lover of tarts and flans. The profiteroles were quite minature that i couldnt really taste it =(. As for the consistency of the ganache.. it was soft and smooth! Its definitely an afternoon delight!

Pure dark chocolate tart with coco dusting! Painted chocolate bits always seems to remind me of Michelle’s Patisserie and we all know their cakes suck. Never the less, this tart was FRESH! If your a dark chocolate lover like myself i think you will like this tart as it has the subtle taste of bitterness. Base was perfect and the chocolate consistency melted in your mouth almost like soft creamy chocolate fudge.
