Supposed to go up the coast during easter but we canned it because the weather forecast suggested it was going to rain. Through-out the whole easter break it didn’t end up raining so we were kicking ourselves #$&*$#. Easter is such a boring period of the year so we set out for the Sydney Royal Eastershow.

Price wise its $32 per adult a family costs about $100 (not cheap at all). I guess its ok if you don’t have kids especially when events like this only happen once a year. How often are you surrounded by silly carnival games, parades, wood chopping, extreme games, rodeo competitions and lots more?

However, i’ve been here 3 years in a row and it’s still the same old stuff (nothing has changed). I didn’t end up getting show bags because i figured its bags of samples and junk which cost a billion times more than going to the super-market and picking up the goods yourself.

Overall its an event for family, friends or couples.. its a day out doors where everyone is having fun! so if you haven’t been I think you should at least go during some stage of your life.

THE FOOD

Woolworths food hall is filled with many sorts of food stalls and products which range from, cupcakes, chilli, jams and spreads, super market products like e.g honey, dairy products, cheese, chocolate etc.

FRUIT GROWERS
My overall favourite is visiting the growers fruit displays and purchasing their FRESH FRUIT from the farm! Yessss you can seirously taste a significant difference between produce from the super-market and produce from the farm. I was looking for the pineapple as previous years i’ve been addicted to it! With the drought there were no pineapples and fruits were limited. However they sold water melon which was just as delicious and SUPER SWEET! I gobbled it down so quickly i took a photo of the last couple of pieces :(

MUST HAVE

It’s a tradition to always have scones at the Country Women’s Club Association! These women bake about 30,000 + sones during the easter-show period and without-fail these are super fresh as they are brought out of the oven wrapped in a tea-towel! It’s not the best scones but hey its good to support these women!

Food Judging
Easter show has a number of judging events such as beading, painting, photography, cakes designs, flowers and cakes, scrolls, cookies, ginger-bread men, scones, banana breads etc.

Cake Design Judging
These cakes are designed soo beautifully you wouldn’t even want to eat it!

OTHER FOODS

Gozleme
Who thought gozleme could be made with chicken??? IT was quite nice but can’t beat the usual beef and spinach combination.
