QVB Tea Room
Ladies leave your men at home.. this place is mainly for girls ^_^
Went here a while ago with Lis (one of the pigged-out administrators), betty and anita. I thought I may as well do a review as I felt i should express how great this high-tea was! Service was great until the end stages of our dining experience. (I asked for teapot to be re-filled with hot water twice and nothing happened) so there i sat dieing to wash the sweetness from my throat. Despite this its nothing to complain about and its definitely not stopping me from coming here again. In fact, mother’s day is coming up and I think I just might take here here ^_^
Food was great much better than the victoria room (see my previous review) and you can instantly tell by the quality too. The crockery was amazingggg just what i pictured it to be (floral plates) sterling silver teapots, milk jugs and tea strainers.
All this for $32 bucks!

FOOD
I was amazed at how full I was at the end of this. I struggled to finish all of my cakes but I managed! After all I wouldnt want to waste this deliciously looking food.
Passion fruit Kisses
Oh my god i’ve never tried kisses like this before! it was soo good that the cream just melted into your fingers and you’d have no choice but to lick them off MMMM

Pistachio Meringue
I can’t recall the taste of this.. I think i gobbled it so quickly i didnt even analyse it DAmnit!

Strawberry Cream Tart
MMmMm anything with stra

Profiterole with creamy cheese and chives
Who thought a profiterole base could become a savory treat?

Tuna finger sandwich
Can’t go wrong with tuna and super fluffy bread![]()

Cheese & Spinach Pastry
These were to die forrrrrrr i wish they were bigger![]()

Sultana and Plain Scones
These are officially the BEST SCONES EVER!!! The out side was crunchy (not really crunchy but had a nice texture to it and the middle was heaven)

Ahh… Royal Doulton china. We have a (small) collection of it at home in this design and it’s just so lovely to look at (far to scared to actually use it!) The food looks lovely, and I’d imagine sitting in pretty clothing in the QVB would have made the mood just right

my friends are all obsessed with this place! but somehow I keep missing their high tea lunch dates ><
hey I wanted to ask, when you say ‘bookings required’, is that true even for two/three ppl?

thats correct. Yup its best to book if you want a seat if not they may try and seat you but you’d have a time-limit which sux.. so youd have to be out there by a certain time and you could feel rushed which would suck =(. Tp be sure i think its best to reserve a seat it advanced. Doesnt take much for a quick phone call or you can go on their website and I think book from there.

I would like to share my experience with you at the Tea Room, Queen Victoria Building.
My girlfriends and I experienced the ‘high tea’ service one afternoon at the Tea Room QVB.
We were advised when we walked in that we only had a little over an hour due to closing, and was offered containers towards the end to take away because of the time. constraint. Being woman, and not having room in our bags to carry the box, we kindly asked for a bag in which to put the containers in.
The waiter sarcastically (rudely in my opinion) suggested they did not have bags and commented:
‘what bag? we only have garbage bags here’
The audacity of him to suggest using a garbage bag to a customer! What era are we in?
One of the girls became very upset and the good time were having came to an abrupt halt!
I am deeply disappointed with this level of service attitude by today’s standards.
Surely, a place of this would have better trained staff – its not exactly McDonalds we are paying for?
Needless to say we did not tip.
Disturbed and disappointed (ex) customer
