Rotorua is a small country town 3 hours out of Auckland. Its mainly known for their mud baths, hot springs, active volcanoes and traditional Maori villages. Spending 2 nights in a small town food options are fairly slim. I hadn’t eaten that entire day and was dieing for something decent. Walked around Tutanekai Street (main street for restaurants) and was surrounded by the usual Thai, Chinese and Indian which I was not interested in.

Triple 1 Five where offering a stone grill! The great thing i love a bout stone grills is how fresh and healthy it is! Meat cooked without oils and no fat, vegetables plain and boring which is great if you want to keep in shape! I enjoyed it thoroughly and was probably the best meal I had in New Zealand. Other meals I had were absolutely shocking.. but i’ll save that for my next entry ^_^

SERVICE
Service is pretty bad! but i’ve found that with all the restaurants ive been to in these small NZ towns. By the looks of things, eating out is something the locals rarely do and the restaurant industry isnt as big as how it is in sydney..

Unusual cheesecake served in a glass. Underneath is crumbled bits of cheesecake base and on top rich cheesecake goodness!

Chocolate Caramel Tart with Nutty Biscuit Base..
Oh man this really did make me feel complete! The nutty base was sooo good! Ive never had a tart with a base like that before! The gooey caramel oozing out of the centre and the rich chocolate on top is what made this desert even better!
