Easter is a great excuse for Christians like me to whore out on fish & chips ^_^ I may not be a die-hard catholic but i do try cutting meat from my diet on fridays to the lead-up of this holistic period. It sucks that a lot of restaurants are closed but the good news is FISH & CHIP STORES nation wide are open as they tend to make a stack of crash during this period.
I drove all the way to Drummoyne just to share this fish and chips place believe and think is one of the BEST! Being bred a beach girl, fish and chips has always been the beach meal. I’ve tried endless fish and chips places (coogee, bronte, bondi, maroubra, randwick, manly, dee-why, south coast, north coast etc) in search of what i believe will make me keep coming back and none of them have done the trick as well as Ocean Foods which explains why they’ve won consecutive awards since 1992 till 2008.
From me driving all the way from maroubra to Drummoyne for fish really does say something about this place! NQN did a review about this a while ago from memory.

UPGRADE
They upgraded this a while ago which I think is awesome, previously there was no seating areas which left the only option but to eat in the car, take it home or drive 1minute down the road and sit by the water.

Georges Special: 2 pieces of Barramundi and chips
This one seems to be the ultimate favourite. What i love about this deal is that it’s all freshly battered! none of the pre-battered bull-shiet! In our case they gave us 4 as being super generous. I’ve never finished this on my own.. I always have to share with someone. Fillet sizes are huge!

Freshly Crumbed Calamari Rings
The great thing I love about these calamari rings is that there’s HERBS in them!
Grilled Barramundi Burger: tasty cheese, tomato, lettuce, sauce of your choice
I had this for the first time during easter. I saw heaps of people ordering it and I just had to try it!!! it was light and massive! i ended up eating half the bread (dont want too much carbs) but ate the fish!
Prawn Seafood Salad
The best seafood salad by far! the amount of WHOLE fresh peeled prawns, and crab sticks. However what’s even better is that the mayo isn’t heavy! I hate mayo usually but this oneee OMGGG i just have to have the salad. I even thought about ordering one to take to work! thats how good it is. When there’s super fresh prawns involved.. just cant say no to that.

Been here a plenty of times and they seem to always throw in a little something extra. Has some really good seafood, especially the seafood salad. However, I’ve had the worst soft shelled crab here as well, so now I just stick to the non-special options.

I’m still craving their S&P squid which was so good almost worth a trip from Mosman to Drummoyne! The prawn salad looks pretty generous with the prawns too.

will have to give this place another test run. the seafood salad does look generous in prawns. have you tried the fish and chips shop Saltwater Quality Seafood on the corner of 944 anzac parade and haig st in Maroubra for their simple fish burger? also Salt and Lemon at 76 Clovelly Rd Randwick for their Crumbed Calamari? let me know what you think if you do. i’ve heard the Lashings across the road are supposed to make pretty decent beef burgers.

Went there today .. was only ok but servings were TINY and very expensive… stick to the fish market!!!
