LL Wine & Dine, Potts Point
potts point and the hidden gem
everyone should know about!
So where is it you ask?? In an alley just off the cross (Macleay St via Darlinghurst road) lays a trendy bar / restaurant where the locals know about and the outsiders don’t have a clue. Being an eastern suburbs girl by heart and not heard about this hidden gem made me gobsmacked at what a brilliant place this was in terms of decor (wall of vintage porn), drinks, cocktails and most importantly.. the fantastic asian fusion tappas style food that is bound to make you want more and want to come back with mates thanks to the awesome vibe.

The whole atmosphere adds to the experience where vintage styled floral wallpaper meets collage of vintage porn, artistic spray painted graffiti with a sensual oriental theme which sets the mood for diners who want a quiet retreat while indulging over Head Chef Jin Kung’s amazing dishes and ex-victoria room’s Sam Reed’s cocktail infusions.

Signature Cocktails – Chilli & Coconut Martini
Chilli lovers this is the bevvie for you! The sensation of the chili heat that warms the throat with the textured coconut makes this martini a one of a kind. First chili martini I’ve ever had and I would totally order it again because I’ve got a chili addiction!

Signature Cocktail – Botanical Fling
One of my favourite liqueurs is St. Germain in fact I tend to use this when marinating berries as it’s a sweet liqueur. Botanical fling is definitely a ladies drink and is a cocktail that will be delicious to anyone! – MUST HAVE!!!

Sashimi nachos of king fish & ocean trout
At first I was thinking “whoa” this is gonna be quite strange but boy was I proved wrong. The creamy of the guacamole turned a simple ingredient into something that was pleasurable and delicious to eat. The sweetness of the corn and the spicy lime really took this dish to another level. Much loved!!!

Prawn & pork wonton with chilli oil and aged dark vinegar sauce, topped with silk egg, pickled mustard and shallots
Move out boring original wontons and welcome these wonton babies with oozing broth. The prawn and pork wontons are filled with freshness that you could feel the texture of the prawn in your mouth. When downed with the dark vinegar, a lovely soothing tang coats the mouth making you want more!

Confit crispy skin duck breast with five spices served with homemade pancakes, cucumber, spring onions, taro chips and plum and orange sauce
One of my ultimate favourite dishes of all time is the original peaking-duck pancake! When this dish first came out I knew this was going to be a very interesting one. The duck meat was filled with flavour and you could really taste the five spices.Homemade pancakes are fluffy, soft and delicate with the fancy crispy taro chips which adds texture and sound to the pancake dish. Last but not least, the plum and orange sauce was absolutely divine and is what made the dish a total stand out. The sweetness and citrus flavours combined with all the ingredients made me fall in love with this so much I’ll never look at a peaking-duck pancake the same away again!

pork belly bun cooked in traditional Hakka granny’s way served with crushed peanuts, coriander & chilli sauce
move out pork bun’s make way for pork belly bun! What an absolute genius idea! Seriously i would never look at another char sieu pow (pork bun) the same way again! The buns were so soft and fluffy and the pork belly is tender succulent and filled with delicious flavour (not sure what the sauce was but it was FANTASTIC). The added combination of the peanuts gave it a lovely nutty texture with the freshness of the coriander and the slight kick from the chili sauce. - MUST A TRY and a favourite of the night!

Braised beef cheek served with smoked bacon and sweet potato mash, sugar snap peas, carrot and garlic-soy jus
Oh my god!!!! braised beef cheek that disolves in the mouth and is filled with flavour. Absolutely loved this dish to death! The smoked bacon flavour surrounds this dish giving it a homely feel and something that would go very very well on any autum / winter menu. The sweet potato mash adds a lovely sweetness to the dish and what makes it complete along with the sugar snap peas made to perfection leaving a lovely subtle crunch!
Seriously, you have to try this dish!

Refresher: Mango sorbet
Mango sorbet is definitely one of the nicest i’ve had in such a long time. Its so delicious it actually feels like im eating a mango on its own!

Singaporean jumbo king prawn curry with capsicum, broccoli and sugar snap served with fritter dipping sticks
When this a was placed in front of me I knew this was going to be an interesting one as I loveeeeeee Chinese Bread stick (cantonese: yau ja gwai – usually eaten with congee)The way to eat this dish is to dip the fritter into the sauce embedded at the bottom of the bowl. The flavours of the singaporean curry was absolutely divine delicious. A chilli kick lurks the mouth leaving all sorts of wonderful fireworks and the deliciousness of the JUMBO king prawn make this dish even more amazing!
Absolutely loved this!!!! Another one you have to try! It’s all about the sauce baby!

Dessert
Tasting plate of desserts
The images below are tiny samples of what’s on their dessert menu which is all delicious (my favourite is the ginger donuts balls with coconut custard)- ginger sugar coated donut balls with coconut custard with pineapple sorbet
- hot Belgium chocolate pudding with fresh strawberries and hazelnut ice-cream
- cinnamon sugar swirls with honey pannacotta and caramel ice-cream

Matching Wines
They have a good selection of wines so please do look at their wine menu. All the wines I have listed in the image below were all very good so definitely something to think about if your going to be dining here!

Restaurant
When standing from the outside, you’ll notice it wouldn’t look like much which is why this is a place you have to experience as you really can’t judge a book by its cover. From the front it looks like a trendy bar but when you are taken to the back, you’ll find it s a whole new world! Inside is dark so food bloggers, your going to have trouble taking photos.
Brilliant place to come here with friends whether it be for a couple of drinks or dinner or both! The staff here are extremely friendly and the Head Chef Jin Kung is amazing at what she does with her modern asian cuisine.
