Lindt – Dark Hot Chocolate Flakes
Went grocery shopping on the weekend and did a bit of impulse buying : Stumbled up on the Lindt – Dark Hot Chocolate Flakes ($7.99) in the coffee section @ woolies which was calling me to put in my shopping basket.
What drew me into buying this was the fact that it wasn’t your ‘usual’ powdered hot chocolate. Lindt have smartly come up with the idea of making hot chocolate “FLAKES”.

TASTE
I’m a lover of dark chocolate so i love the semi bitterness it contains. I found the hot chocolate beverage Very yummy indeed! Nothing is worse than having a super sweet hot chocolate that leaves you feeling like you’ve gotten diabetes and gluggy. The texture of chocolate flakes melting in your mouth is like snow melting into rain drops.

TEXTURE
Does anyone remember the old Cabdury Flake commercial where the lady breaks a flakey piece of chocolate and seductively pressed them onto her lips? The texture is very similar..
If you don’t rmemeber.. just imagine crumbling a cadbury flake onto the top of a chocolate cake. *YUMmMM*
INNOVATION
Who said you can only use this for hot beverages? you can make iced chocolate, or even sprinkle some on ice-cream.

Ooohh I gotta get me some of this! and you should make a hot chocolate ice cream float with chocolate flakes! So much awesome

ahhh! so much easier than grating chocolate shavings into a mug and then topping it with hot milk! i always make my hot chocolate this way when i have left over chocolate+cream melted in a pot from icing cakes. delicious

The weather is getting cooler, perfect for hot choc. I’ve got a box of Pierre Herme hot choc which I’m too scared to open, it cost me $40 from his Tokyo store -_-

My daughter is dairy allergic so when I saw your feature I suddenly remembered we had some of these once. When giving my daughter some of her gorgeous swedish glace vanilla ice cream today I put a little putre raspberry syrup in the bowl over it and then grated some of her dairy free dark choc over it – mmm Black Forest ice cream (had to try some didn’t I?). Thought you might like to as well, hence my note. However, will be looking for the Lindt Flakes but would question whether they are Dairy Free as most sadly aren’t.
