Crystal Seafood Restaurant

Who thought the west could have decent yum cha places? I didn’t! Nadine (another pigged-out administrator) also goes to Crystal Seafood restaurant for yum cha so I thought i’d do a quick review on this since I ate here on saturday.

I’ve eaten yum-cha here multiple times mainly because after 3 hours of cycling and running around homebush in the early morning.. the only place that comes to our mind is having a good meal for a reasonable / cheap price. Sky Phoenix Rhodes would be a closer solution but I don’t think a group of us is prepared to pay a shit load for tiny dumplings especially when our stomachs are completely empty and our metabolism is firing. Besides I don’t think the staff at sky phoenix would let us in with our cycling clothes LOL!!!

I don’t think this is the best yum cha place but I do think it is very reasonable for the west! It changes the whole perspective of having to travel to the city, chatswood, or hurstville for yum cha! They have a huge selection and my favourite of all they have a “PEAKING DUCK PANCAKE TROLLY” To be honest I go here for that hahahahah!!! Oh and they even sell FRIED ICE-CREAM!!!

Most of you would know what dishes these are unless your from another world.. If not read on!… I didnt get to order some of my favourite dishes and there was no room for desert but hey there’s always next time. We ate heaps more than the photos below there are just some of them. Our stomachs couldn’t hold out for photos.

Peking duck pancake on a yum cha trolley? Never seen that before! However, I’m surprised there was no prawn gow gee photo. Seems to be one of the more popular dishes.

that peking duck has a lot of meat on it for peking duck. not traditional, but definitely a good thing when you’re paying per piece :) and oh! we call the ham sui gok “footballs” too! they’re my absolute favourite. nomnomnom!

YIKES i find this place expensive, went with my mum who is vegetarian and paid around $26 each and my mum hardly ate anything!!

I just find this place pricey, they have a take away section and the food is average, i remember buying 3 sets of dumplings and it cost me Around $12, hmmm have prices really gone up that much or am i cheap? i could be the latter

Admittedly i still go here because its still better than food court food!!

ITs true, this is probably the most WEST place in sydney that has yum cha, i really cant think of another place

So is Rhodes yum cha a bit high class? do u have a review of it?
