After knowing this place was 10 minute drive from my house I finally got the chance to visit Botany’s hidden treasure. A breakfast entry will be up at the end of the week. I thought I’d make another appearance sometime this weekend as i’m dieing to try their other amazing breaky dishes! I’m super lucky Brasserie Bread is just around the corner from my door step! *score!*

Who said Brasserie Bread only makes bread? They also make amazing cakes and tarts for people with sweet teeth like myself ^_^ The tarts and cakes were calling my name and I just couldn’t resist purchasing them especially when they were brought straight out from the production line. I really wanted to buy some eclairs but I think it was too early in the morning :(

Chocolate Caramel Tart
A chocolate lovers heaven! Biscuit base with oozing caramel and rich good quality chocolate!  When I first laid my eyes on the smooth silky caramel.. I knew I was gonna fall in love with it.. and in love I did!

Coconut & Blueberry Cake

Lemon Tart
The most easy to eat lemon tart around! I’ve had a lot of lemon tarts in the past some are super sour, some have a thick texture and some are more zesty. This lemon tart took me by surprise as I was expecting my facial expression to scrunch up! Boy was I wrong! It was soft lemon center with a pleasant sweet after taste. Very much enjoyed! Definitely a must try!

The Tea Room, Gunners Barracks

Gunners Barracks? Where the hell is that??? After being some what scared of driving over the god damn bridge, I had no choice but to concur my fear and drive over the stoopid thing!! I can proudly say I didn't miss an exit LOL but I admit I was shitting bricks thinking I did. Gunners Barracks had been on our high tea list for a very very long time and it seemed to be one of the places hardly anyone had visited. After this date being in the diary for approximately 3 months.. the day everyone seemed to be free turned out to be a cloudy, cold, partially rainy / sunny...

Hurstville Chinese Restaurant – Lunch

‘when a restaurant is packed with chinese customers, you know its gonna be good’ My family has a cantonese background and we’ve been coming here for years thanks to their cantonese cuisine. We’d usually come here for dinner which is always packed out so always make a reservation! Stand out dishes for me is their...

Bills, Darlinghurst

I find it extremely hard to wake up on a Sunday morning. Unfortunately its the only day of the week I get to catch-up on sleep before another week of work *rolls eyes*. Some of us had shockingly never been to bills before so this was an important reason to wake up for some of Bill's McLovin' brunch followed by shopping with the girls and hoeing into boon...

Aki’s, Woolloomooloo

Aki’s prawn vendakai curry featured in masterchef! Back in the 90′s when growing up, Indian food was always stereotyped as looking unfriendly (considering nothing could be seen underneath that delicious curry sauce). Over the years Indian food has definitely reached the mouths of many cultures and become a cuisine where people are not afraid to...

ULTIMATE CHOCOLATE CRIME – DOUBLE CHOC MOUSSE
When I first sliced the cake I was surprised to see this was a layered mousse cake. It’s a double chocolate cake that allows you to get the best of both worlds of vanilla and dark chocolate. Mousse was very fresh and silky and the sponge was moist which helped break the barrier of glazed chocolate topping.  – A Very delicious satisfying cake for chocolate lovers.

I loved the decoration and presentation of the cake. When opening the box the smell of rich chocolate makes your nose hairs stand like a mouse finding a block of cheese! The beautiful white chocolate sprinkles around the base of the cake almost looking like snow.

RASPBERRY MINI MUFFINS x 12
Cutest muffins you will ever find. No doubt i’ve had many muffins like this in the past via functions. Some are dry and some have nothing in them. I kid you not there were raspberries in every single one of them! Not 1 but 2 or 3. Talk about generous especially when these mini muffins take only 1 bite to eat!

http://pigged-out.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/cakeconnoisseur_part2_rasp_a.jpg

Muffins were soft and fluffy! Its perfect for tea or a snack. Sometimes a normal muffin can be too much or too filling. However these were perfect bite size which aren’t heavy but light, moist and tasty.
