Charcoal Mine BBQ House, Parramatta
Put aside your favourite outfit and put on something you’re planning to get smoked-out! If you can’t cook but want to have a go at cooking something then try your luck at this place. Great way to prove to people you can flip a piece of meat over the grill LOL.
First went to Charcoal Mine about 5 years ago and since then it’s been about 2 years since I last ate here. Our first surprise was being able to make a booking here on the night.. as this used to be impossible back in the day especially a last minute reservation. Rocked up for our 7:00pm and to my amazement the place was pretty empty which I found strange..
Good news is, the buffet of marinated raw meats and seafood is still the same old style I remember.
and the good new is korean BBQ is pretty healthy when you think about it.. no cooking oil is required just snapping on raw produce onto a grill =P
Price is a bargain for all you can cook and eat.. $30 per person on weekends and $28 weekdays.
What is Korean BBQ?
Korean barbecue, or gogi gui, refers to the Korean method of grilling beef, pork, chicken, or other types of marinated and non-marinated meat and seafood. Such dishes are often prepared at the diner’s table on gas or charcoal grills that are built into the center of the table itself. Most diners enjoy doing their own grilling at the table.

AMBIANCE
casual environment, relaxed, family orientated, can be loud at times especially because big group dinners are usually held at this place but overall dining, eating and cooking together is what brings people together. Interior furniture could be updated with something more modern.. but hey its all about the food =P

SERVICE
Great, the employees kept taking our dirty dishes so we could update them with fresh ones.
FOOD
Couldn’t exactly take photos of the raw meats.. The owners had their suspicions as they thought i was strange taking photos of my food, the surroundings and the buffet.
Free filtered water, coffees and tea selections so if your willing to save some cash then at least you have that option to help yourself with a minimal range beverages.
Buffet of marinated and non-marinated meats and seafood and salads
Buffet selection: scotch fillet, beef ribs, pork belly, chicken, chicken wings, thin skirt, bacon, sausages, ox tongue, liver, kidney, beef intestines, chicken giblets, calamari, baby octopus, mussels, mushrooms, lettuce, beansprout salad, spicy shallot, watermelon, rice and many sauces to choose from.

Marinated beef topped with shallots and boiled rice – my favouriteeeee
not only is the beef paper thin but the marinate is delicious

Grilled Squid
squid was one of my favourites on the night, soo tender once cooked!!!

Grilled a number of salads didn’t bother taking photos of plain garden stuff… thought i’d take photos of the korean type salads such as kim chi (I LOVE KIM CHI)and marinated shallots.

Haha, smoked out indeed! I went to a Korean BBQ place in Hurstville a couple of years ago and it took me several days to get the smell out of my hair. The marinated beef you had looks really good.

I haven’t been here in since i last wrote this post (ages ago). From what I’ve noticed when I’ve driven past recently… is that its no longer as packed as it used to be…. so i’m not too sure…
Its not that spicy just a little kick but not so hot its going to burn your mouth
