Friday i went here again for the billionth time because my sister hadn’t tried it before. (FYI: When I mentioned billionth.. I mean’t billionth
). I’ve been here soo many times (like every other asian
) that i’ve managed to collect a stack of photos over time. However I still consider Musashi as a simple hang-out while wanting a feed for a reasonable price that is tasty and somewhat healthy.
It’s always an easier option if you work in the city and the last thing you want to do is go home, pick up the car and find a place for a feed which could result to finding parking and wasted time.
I’ve pretty much tried all the main things in this restaurant and I have a fair few favourites that I always order / keeping coming back to because it’s convenient and decent.
Be warned, if your out in the city looking for something quick because you need to go else where, then this is the perfect solution. This isn’t the type of restaurant where you could take your time due to the extremely high turn-over rate.
AMBIANCE
The decor is something you cannot complain about. Its simple dark wooded framed seats and the beautiful lighting that shades the room. The restaurant can get noisy at times it all depends on what kind of audience you have that night. There’s different seating options such as”Counter seating, outdoors or table indoors. If your like me and you don’t mind sitting at the counter then by all means go for it. You get to experience the chefs cooking and preparing meals.

SERVICE
Service is very quick as there is a high turn-over. Food seems to come out extremely quick which can be annoying if you wish to take your time. Some cases teppanyaki arrives before the entree.
If your waiting in the que outside then good luck you might need it. On a bad day you could wait up to 15-45minutes but if you go early (which i suggest) you’ll get a seat much quicker. The good thing about this place is.. they don’t leave you hanging outside alone in the dark, they come out every so often with complementary green tea as you’re waiting patiently.

STARTERS
Sashimi
Japanese ain’t japanese without sashimi!

Salmon Love

Steamed Chicken Salad
This is my favourite dish out of everything! I don’t know what sauce it is nor do i know what sort of root / veggie is in here. Its just sooo unique and I loveeee it to death. Every time I come here… I haveeeee to order the “steamed chicken salad”.

Agedashi Tofu
I’ve never been a fan of Agedashi tofu… I don’t know why this is the only tofu dish on this planet i don’t fancy =(.. I hate the mayo stuff it makes me feel sick.. (but thats just me personally)

MUSASHI SPECIALS
BBQ King Prawns
When i’m craving prawns, I always get my satisfaction from coming here. Enough of that fried prawn … what I enjoy about these prawns is that they’re simple, FRESH!!!! and HEALTHY!

BBQ Calamari
If you can handle the taste of super fishy cuisines, then you might like this BBQ squid. I personally died when trying to gulp this down as I found it fishy myself!!! I never thought calamari could taste fishy but I guess I was wrong. The calamari is soft (and not chewy) but amazingly HUGE as its not cooked through (semi raw). If your game TRY IT!

Premium Wagyu Sirloin Steak (170g)
The boys seemed to love this which I didn’t end up trying…I’m not too keen on meat with fat =( Yes I can only eat lean meat (picky i am)

TEPPAN- YAKI
Wagyu Beef Yakiniku – Served with rice, bean sprouts and mashed potato.
One of the must have dishes is the Wagyu Beef Yakiniku. The thinly sliced beef which melts in your mouth. It’s soo tender and juicy that once dipped in the the Yakiniku sauce… it takes you on an amazing flavoursome journey! I’ve tried the other sister dish “Wagyu beef with Ginger” and its not as good as this… It’s all about the sauce baby!

Chicken Terriyaki
I’m a chicken terriyaki kinda girl. Chicken is soft and tender, chicken skin is crispy which is always a bonus. If your fairly new to this place and don’t know what to expect.. this dish is always a safe one to go for.

Chilli Chicken & Ginger
If your up for a bit of chilli, give this a shot. It’s not hot.. then again don’t take my advice when chilli is involved because my tongue is immune to all foods containing the lovely world of firey hot chilli.

Salmon Terriyaki
Salmon lovers eat your heart out. Soft beautiful salmon chunks with sweet terriyaki sauce.. what more could you ask for?

DESERT
Green Tea Icecream with red bean and glutenous balls

Black Sesame Ice cream
My FAVOURITE flavour in the worlddddd

BEVERAGES
I find their mocktails fairly sweet..

Food is part of a social and cultural life that is created when food and people are brought together. Most importantly, I love food and the artistic presentation and flavours that are combined to create a work of delicious art!
