Brasserie Bread – Part 2

I went here on two occasions one was being the good daughters by taking mum out for breakfast and the other was a lazy sunday morning.

Sourdough Pancakes w/ Stewed Berries and Honeycomb Cream
I hoed into this so quickly I had to slow my eating pace LOL. The most beautiful sourdough berry pancakes I’ve ever eaten. I expected this to be fairly sour but when I took my first mouthful the berry stew was terrific! The honeycomb cream takes this dish to a different level as it adds a subtle creamy sweetness. The texture of the pancakes is once again amazing. – I now know why this is one of their signature dishes! Pancake Love right here..

Sourdough Pancakes with Banana and Maple Syrup
I’ve never had pancakes with a crunch before. The edges were crunchy almost reminding me of the taste and crunch of a banana fritter (this is oil-less yo!). The texture inside is light and fluffy and was definitely something to moan about. The maple syrup wasn’t too sweet which is perfect (as no one wants to get diabeties early in the morning). I was soo happy with my choice I wanted everyone to try a mouthful of it!

I admit my eyes instantly opened at the sight of coconut (MMM) i love anything and everything with coconut so I knew this was love at first sight! I’m torn between two worlds..I love both pancakes equally.

Soft boiled Egg with Tomato or Vegemite Soldiers
I’ve never been a vegemite kid I just cant bring myself to eating fermented beer LOL. Sisters fiance a true aussie couldn’t resist temptation in saying no to vegemite and soft boiled eggs. The eggs looked amazing once peeled and opened. The runniness of the egg almost made you want to down the yolk like a tequila shot MMMMMM!!!

Toasted Quinoa Bread with Seville Orange Marmalade
I truly believe what makes a good breakfast is some how influenced by the bread! Brasserie Bread are specialists and boy their breads really do take their meals high places. My mum is a huge fan of bread and spreads and she was raving on about the marmalade so I tried a piece. The Quinoa bread was delicious toasted and the marmalade felt like it was organic straight from a growers farm. Mum ended up purchasing two jars of marmalade.

Cheesy Omelette & Prosciutto
This isn’t on the menu it was the days special and my sister decided to give it a go. She enjoyed the omelette as the cheese wasn’t over powering and was extremely light not leaving you feeling gluggish. As for the prosciutto.. I noticed she was saving the best bit till last! =P

Croque Monsieur
This is one of their signature dishes. Talk about beautiful! The grill marks on the sourdough is something that i rarely see its stunning! The boy enjoyed this in fact his comment was the country style sourdough bread was beautiful and the ham had a delicious smokey taste to it. Well much loved!

Eggs Benedict (poached Egg, pan fried Smoked Ham and Hollandaise)
Cant go wrong with eggs Benedict! The egg looked delicious I couldn’t stop staring at its perfection once the egg was broken into as the runny yolk made its appearance. Thoroughly enjoyed!

THE STORE
When you first walk in your greeted with the display of beautiful bread. Samples are presented on tables with olive oil for taste sampling. I recommend coming early. We were there until 10am and it was started to get packed that people had to wait for seats. Breads are amazing. I recommend their sourdough! We walked out of there with two large sourdoughs =P

Oh! Those pancakes have got me craving some fluffy, buttery goodness right now! I’d probably go with the berries and honeycomb cream combo over the coconutty bananas though… or I could do both! *Arrrrrgh!*
