Abhi’s Indian Restaurant, North Strathfield

This restaurant was recommended to me and I must say this is the best indina restaurant in my books. They’re the sister restaurant to Aki’s in wooloomooloo which i am still yet to try. However Abhi’s is a fantastic suburban restaurant with a lot of class and loyal locals who keep returning for their mouth watering authentic indian cuisine.

The service was absolutely fantastic. Well presented, mannered and very helpful in terms of recommendations and suggestions.Everything we ordered was finished and left feeling very satisfied.

The food’s pretty decent here. It’s interesting to see the selection you had, as the only dish that we had in common was the chicken makhni. It’s something I haven’t gotten around to blogging yet.

One thing I did find unusual eating at that place was the whole fine dining arrangement. Felt weird for me to eat Indian food with cutlery as I tend it the traditional way i.e. with the hands.

My favourite is the Masala dosa and the Goan Fish Curry.. The fish is soo good it just melts in your mouth ^_^. I highly recommend it even tho this dishes are small.

I eat with my fingers at Abhi’s ^_^ i dont believe eating roti and nan bread with fork and knife. infact… i dont think ive ever eaten it with a fork and knife. Don’t feel afraid especially when there are indian’s in the restaurant that do it themselves ^_^

Food looks quite good. currently I am cooking Seekh Kebabs at home to tase just like the ones in north Indian Restaurants. As for using the naan, I would say whether it is fine dining or not, naan with the hands is the best way to get the flavours of many of the dishes above.
