Arabella Lebanese Cuisine
Lis organised a group of us to meet up for Lebanese.Over the years she’s been telling me how good this place was and me being asian and all.. the thought of lebanese cuisine is a foreign universe. Since then i’ve come here for a couple of times and I even took my parents here for dinner so they could also experience something new. They loveeeeeddd it!! My dad being a typical chinese was sorta weary but boy he couldn’t believe how full he was.
Read some really bad reviews about this place.. and i’ve never experienced anything like it before and I’m sure Lis hasn’t either (considering she’s been here a billion times). Anyways give it a crack. I had my first experience of Lebanese food here and I enjoyed the food.
AFFORDABILITY
The great thing about this place is that it they offer a Banquet menu which costs $40 per person. They also have a vegetLis organised a group of us to meet up for Lebanese.Over the years she’s been telling me how good this place was and me being asian and all.. the thought of lebanese cuisine is a foreign universe. AMBIANCE
Fairly dark especially at night. Not a lot of lighting but I figure they actually like the place to be very dim especially when the belly dancers come out. This place is fantastic for group parties or just catching up with friends.

FOOD
Arabella’s isn’t a restaurant with a high turn-over rate so allow time for preparation. Remember it’s a banquet menu and the food will be coming all night so its definitely not one of those restaurants where you take-off after you’ve stuffed your face.

Those dips look nice. Your a westy right ? You should check out the Turkish/Leb/Middle Eastern stuff in Auburn, it is awesome. Same concept of bread, dips, pickles and grilled meats … but it’s bloody cheap.

nope i live at maroubra beach but my friends live out in the west and my sis lives in parra. I’m in the west quite often on the weekends.
Omg Auburn! i’ve never stepped out near the shops or station in my life. It looks so scary! i sometimes drive 2 Auburn Fitness first cos my friend is an instructor there but other than thattt im wayyy to scared to go to auburn / lidcomb or grandville :(
Where abouts would u purchase the breads and dips etc? is there a shopping mall there?

I remember watching an episode on Food Lovers Guide or was it Food Safari where they did an episode on Lebanese cuisine. Apparently the deep fried bread is sprinkled on top because its stale ^_^ I’ll still eat it hehe its like asians making fried-rice with yesterdays rice

Whenever there is lebanese food, i cant help but compare it to places in punchbowl or bankstown (thats right i aint scared to go there peoples!!) and ive been to this place, it just cant compare!! The prices are so much cheaper in the West its not funny, sometimes half price!! Thats why i hesitate to goto places outside the West because i feel ripped off!!

Im not a afraid of bankstown or lidcomb. I just never get the chance to venture out to lebanese restaurants that way. I dont know whats good =( I’ve been to merrylands had their kebabs and sweets
Chances are if im in bankstown i’m always there for viet food cos i know where to go and what to eat. =(

Actually Bansktown and lidcombe are TAME places compared to punchbowl, but then again there seems to be a popular chinese restaurant there
IF you been to merrylands,on merrylands road there is a place called Al Arzah
that has $4 falafel rolls!! thats sssooo cheap!!
I can recommend JASMIN, a mixed plate will fill two people, last time i went there its $14 with unlimited bread, veges which i think the vineger-ised and garlic dip at no added cost. There are a few Jasmins around
Admittedly when i goto Bankstown, me and my friend goto vietnamese too haha
“MY Canh” is one of my fav viet places!!
