85°c Cafe – Butter Cookies

I first spotted this cafe on George Street a couple of years ago and never seemed to purchase anything other than stare at the window with my mouth wide open waiting for flies to zoom in lol . A couple of months ago I noticed there was a new 85°c bakery in Kingsford and a tiny branch located at the bottom of Parramatta Westfield.

My sister was starving and it was 5:40pm so she ended up purchasing these butter cookies!!! At first I thought to myself “awww these look uber cuteeee”. While I was driving her home she hand me one and OMGG it was soooooo NICE!!! :wow:

TASTE
The first explosion reminded me of lindt délice (macarons) but more lighter and sweeter. Second phase made me moan like the herbal essence commercial LOLLLLL.. It tasted like “Egg Rolls”  (you gotta be chinese to know what egg rolls are its a child hood wafer / flaky biscuit which tastes like EGG). If your brought up on egg rolls like me then you just might like this mini bite :P

TEXTURE
Very light, fluffy to an extent, character is almost meringue like but a billion times lighter than a pavlova, cream is soft and smooth and the size is as big as a 20-50¢ piece.

Egg rolls – they bring back memories! I didn’t used to like them, but if they looked like macarons, then I’d give them a try now.

  7. They look so good. I think, from what I saw of your pictures, if I go to Australia I’m going to come back weighting a few pounds more. :P

You’ll love the food. There’s foods from all over the world and new ones popping up all over the place that even I can’t keep up with. ^_^

You’ll have to come to australia one day and visit this city ^_^. I’m still yet to go to spain.. Its sooo expensiveee to fly up there that it would send me poor :( If i went i’ll make sure i see Rafael Nadal
